The exhibition “Technology of the Future. Vanessa Billy, Brodie Ellies, Paul Schatz” at the Rehmann Museum explores the local use of technology in Laufenburg through an archaeological lens, generating art-based predictions and theories about its future. Its visual language, a grid based on ASCII characters, is inspired by DIY messenger images from the early 2000s. This reference is reinforced by the use of generic, representative imagery, which, combined with multi-layering and fluorescent colours, creates a bridge to present times.
