Since the 1960s, Ruedi Bechtler has pursued a wide-ranging and uncompromising artistic practice. Through experimental methods, his work engages with ecological questions, post-anthropocentric thought, and the role of art as a social agent.

Developed in conjunction with his solo exhibition “Zeitreise auf dem Kopf” at Kunsthaus Langenthal, this publication draws on Bechtler’s archive to offer a thematically structured overview of his oeuvre. Conceived in close collaboration with the artist, the volume was edited by Michael Hiltbrunner, features an introduction by Ewa Hess, and concludes with a conversation between Bechtler, Dora Imhof, and Hiltbrunner.
